Compose on the move with the Portable Idea Creator

Petr Hampl's Portable Idea Creator features a glove, which is connected to a pair of headphones via Bluetooth. When tapped on any surface, sensors in three of the glove's fingers, through friction, will produce a pre-set beat.

The beats are audible in the wireless headphones and are automatically recorded, ready to upload to a computer and work on later.

The Portable Idea Creator is a concept design by Hampl, who finishing his studies in industrial Design at the Czech Republic's Brno University of Technology and Aalborg University in Denmark.

Similarly, students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology last year produced DIGITal DJ, a toy that allows a user to record four audio tracks using microphones built into a glove. They can then be played back by touching each finger on a surface.
